These high-performance quick-release quick disconnect vacuum couplings are designed to allow a fast and reliable means of attaching vacuum hoses to through-bag connectors, vacuum pumps and other vacuum equipment.

VC200 quick release vacuum connector is supplied as two halves - a male and a female; when connected together they make an airtight seal and allow air to pass through. When disconnected they automatically close internal valves, preventing any air leakage past either side of the coupling. VC200 couplings are custom manufactured for composites use including high temperature/pressure autoclave application. The seals are silicone and PTFE allowing them to be used at service temperatures up to 204°C/400°F.

These quick connect vacuum fittings are typically used to connect vacuum hoses to through-bag connectors in vacuum bagging applications; the male coupling is assembled together with the through-bag connector and the female coupling is attached to a vacuum hose using a hose-tail barb. When vacuum is pulled on the hose, the hose will remain sealed until it is connected to the male coupling on the through bag connector, once connected the air will be drawn from the bag, when full vacuum is achieved the hose can be disconnected, instantly sealing both the vacuum bag and the vacuum hose. This is particularly useful when moving projects from the bagging table to an oven or autoclave or performing a 'vacuum drop' leak test.

How to Buy

This VC200 Quick-Release Vacuum Coupling is supplied as a set which includes the male and the female side of the connector. The price shown is for the set of both parts.

Further Information

How to Use

Connection is very straight-forward, simply pull back the spring-loaded outer ring on the female fitting and push the coupling together, then allow the ring to spring back into place which will lock the coupling. To separate the coupling pull the ring back and the coupling will spring apart.

Fittings

Both the male and female sides of the VC200 Quick-Release Vacuum Coupling are provided with 1/4" BSP female (G) threads making them directly compatible with our through bag connector, hose tail barbs, vacuum gauge, vacuum pumps and degassing chambers.

Always use PTFE tape to seal joints between any vacuum fittings.

Conventional Use

VC200 Quick-Release Vacuum Couplings are most commonly used with durable vacuum hoses. For standard out-of-autoclave use they can be used with an 8mm Hose Tail Barb and then connected to a length of 8mm ID Silicone Vacuum Hose.

Un-crushable Hoses / Autoclave Use

When using the VC200 couplings in an autoclave or for environments where a very robust, crush resistant vacuum hose is required, the couplings can be connected to a vacuum hose lined with our Reinforcement Spring for 8mm ID Vacuum Hose. This creates a vacuum hose that is impossible to crush or damage in normal use.

Spring reinforced vacuum hose should be connected to the coupling using our special 10mm 'spring compatible' Hose Tail Barb Connector which ensures there is no compressible weak-spot at the interface between the hose and barb fitting.

Example Configuration

Can’t find the answer you’re looking for?Ask our technical team a question.

No, in normal service for general composites use we would not expect the seals to need replacement. However, replacement seals are available from us if needed.

The Collar on the female connector has an O/D of 26mm. The male connector is widest on the base which is a 17mm hex adaptor so 22mm across the widest point.

The O rings in the connector are 2mm section, 11mm bore Viton rubber O rings.

The female BSP threads on the VC200 Quick-Release Vacuum Couplings are BSPP (parallel) threads.

No, sorry. The VC200 Quick-Release coupling is only available as a combined set.

To connect the VC200 to a 12mm ID hose, you will need a 12mm Hose-Tail Barb Connector which will screw onto the VC200 allowing you to fit the hose.

Yes, the ball bearings in our VC200 couplings are stainless steel.
