COVID 19 - Important Changes to Shipping Policy

Due to increased order volumes, reduced staff, social distancing and other operational restrictions, there are a number of changes to our shipping policy which are currently in force due to the COVID 19 / Coronavirus pandemic.

Whilst the majority of deliveries are still being made 'next-day', these are exceptional circumstances for couriers and we are aware of potential delays affecting all of our courier services including UPS, TNT, FedEx and Royal Mail and therefore all customers should be prepared for the possibility of delays or one or more days.

Whilst we appreciate that this might be disappointing or inconvenient, it is both understandable and outside of our control. This applies to all customers and all orders, if this isn't OK, please don't order from us.

International deliveries may also be delayed due to movement restrictions or locked-down areas.

UK Deliveries

Order Before 1pm for UK Next-Day Delivery (not currently guaranteed)

Orders must be placed before 1pm on a working day (Mon-Fri). 'Next-day' means 'next working day' - this does not include the weekend.

Next-working day delivery only applies to the UK mainland and does not include offshore islands (Isle of Man, Isle of White, Shetland Islands etc.), Scottish Highlands, or some more remote regions of the UK.

Shipping to Highlands, Islands and Remote Regions of the UK

Some Scottish Highlands, islands and remote regions of the UK cannot be reached by our couriers on a next-day service. In most circumstances our website shipping calculator will endeavour to identify these regions (based on the shipping postcode) and advise when a next-day service is not available. However - on occasions - it is possible that such postcodes will not be identified by our shipping system and a next-day service will be offered to a region that cannot be reached by a next-day service, please accept our apologies if this happens.

For shipping addresses in the Scottish Highlands, islands or other remote regions of the UK; if your delivery is time-critical, please contact us to confirm the delivery service available to your specific address.

International Deliveries

Next-day delivery does not apply to deliveries outside of mainland UK, although we do offer fast, cost-effective shipping to most countries around the world.

Shipping Dangerous Goods

Many of the products sold on the Easy Composites website are classed as hazardous or dangerous goods. The shipping calculator on our website understands this and will surcharge some international orders accordingly.

The availability of hazardous goods shipping varies from country to country but almost all chemical products can be sent to most European countries in smaller quantities without restriction. Restrictions do apply to some of the largest pack sizes as indicated on the product page and by the classification "Full DG" in the hazardous column on the basket page.

If you are outside mainland Europe and want to avoid any 'Hazardous Surcharge' we suggest removing any products containing chemicals like resin or solvents from your order.

Shipping Dangerous Goods to Canada

We can only ship dangerous goods to certain postcodes in Canada. If you are based in Canada and would like to place an order containing dangerous goods please contact us beforehand so that we can check your postcode.

Changes to Shipping Cost

Our website uses a very sophisticated set of rules to calculate shipping costs for your exact consignment (size, weight, type of goods) and therefore, providing you enter your delivery address correctly, the price you see on the checkout page will be the price you will pay for shipping. However, due to the wide range of products (including hazardous and oversize products) sometimes the website will not calculate the shipping price correctly. In these circumstances we will calculate the actual shipping cost and contact you to discuss.

Oversize Goods

Some of our products (particularly carbon fibre tubes, sheets and foam blocks) are very large. There are no size restrictions in the UK, up to 1.5m around Europe and up to 1m for the rest of the world. The website will automatically notify you if we are unable to ship certain items to your address. If you particularly need a large item please contact us, we can arrange international shipping on most items on a POA basis.

Important - Import Duty / Customs Clearance

If you are a customer shopping from outside the EU you will automatically be charged NO VAT (Value Added Tax) by our website. You may well, however, be charged import duty by your country's customs office when the goods enter your country. The rate of import duty varies from country to country and even from product to product. In many countries, no import duty is charged at all on orders below a certain value and in other countries import duty is always charged regardless. In most cases, if duty is to be collected it will be collected by the courier company delivering your goods (for example UPS, FedEx or TNT) who will contact you on behalf of your country's customs office to collect any duty due. If you are in any doubt, please contact your country's customs office.

Please note that import duty is totally outside of our control. If you refuse to pay import duty on goods we send to you, the goods will either be returned to us or destroyed, both of which will be at your cost.

Shipping Prepregs Internationally

Prepreg materials are perishable, please be reminded that it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that goods clear through their local countries customs swiftly on arrival. Any import delay caused during customs clearance is outside of our control and as such, Easy Composites Ltd cannot refund or replace materials which are found to be damaged or unusable on arrival.

Whilst delays during customs clearance are very rare, we strongly advise all customers intending to import prepreg materials to contact their local customs agency to seek full clarification of the import procedure and whether delays are likely before placing an order. By placing an order for prepreg materials, you accept the above conditions of sale.

Un-serviced Countries

Regretfully, due to various reasons, we currently only offer restricted services (such as Royal Mail only) or no service at all to the following countries:

Azores, Gaza, Georgia, Madeira, Melilla, Russian Federation, Syria, Tahiti, Turkey, Ukraine.

If you reside in one of these countries and wish to place a large (palletised) order then please contact our sales department where we can discuss bespoke transport options with you.

Delivery Times

The vast majority of orders are sent by UPS. For certain destinations or for unusual package sizes we also use FedEx and TNT. We use both priority and economy services depending on the items included in your order to provide the best value and speed we can. You will be informed which courier and service have been selected for your order on the checkout screen.

Delivery times for any order containing Dangerous Goods are not guaranteed. Dangerous Goods orders may also take additional time for dispatch to allow time for the detailed paperwork to be completed.

Small items can optionally be sent using Royal Mail as a 'Large Letter' or 'Small Packet'. Typically this is 1-2 days (UK), 3-5 days (Mainland Europe), 7-10 days (Rest of Europe, USA, Canada) and 10-14 days (Rest of World) however please allow up to 28 days for delivery to all international destinations. Tracking numbers for 'Large Letter' or 'Small Packet' services only provide a proof of delivery.

Tracking Numbers

Except for 'Large Letter' and 'Small Packets', all orders are carried by UPS, FedEx or TNT. The exact service to be used will be shown to you on the checkout screen, depending on many factors including hazardous material (like resin), perishable goods (like prepreg) and oversize items (like tubes or blocks of foam).

Tracking numbers for all UPS, FedEx and TNT orders will be automatically emailed to you when your goods are shipped. Tracking numbers are also available from the 'Order History' screen when you log in to your account
