P1000 Mirka Abralon 150mm Abrasive Finishing Pads

Abralon pads from Mirka are the industry standard in fine finishing pads for dual-action (DA) or random orbit electric sanders. Abralon pads have a soft foam-like construction which combines non-clogging cutting performance with a non-marking flexibility, even on contoured surfaces.

Very fine P1000 grit, 150mm disc size. Available in packs of 5 or boxes of 20.

These Mirka Abralon pads are high performance fine-finishing abrasive pads suitable for velcro attachment to 150mm diameter dual-action/random orbital power sanders.

Mirka's Abralon line of finishing pads are the industry standard in fine finishing and have a distinctive soft foam-like construction which combines non-clogging cutting performance with a non-marking flexibility, even on contoured surfaces.

These finishing pads are suitable for use on just about any composite material, including all resins, gelcoats, paints and primers.

The foam construction of the pads allows sanding dust to be extracted at source and vacuumed through the pad itself, resulting in a sanding action with almost no dust generation when the sander is connected to a suitable dust extractor.

How to Fit

The sanding discs feature a looped (Velcro) backing which is designed to attach easily and securely to the velcro interface on most power sanders.

Grit Selection

The pads listed on this page have a very fine P1000 grit abrasive which is the correct grit to follow P800 or grit in a composites flatting and finishing operation. P1000 Abralon is sufficiently fine to take to a full gloss by following up with a cutting compound such as Pai Cristal NW1 or can be followed by even finer Abralon P2000.

Soft Interface Pads for Contoured Surfaces

Due to the soft, foam-like nature of the Abralon pads, we do no recommend the use of foam interface pads with Abralon.
