Decorative reinforcement fabrics are dry composite reinforcement fabrics which are woven specifically to create an eye-catching or unusual appearance on the surface of a composite laminate. In all cases, decorate reinforcements will still add structural strength to a laminate although their mechanical properties may be slightly compromised in favour of producing an attractive or unusual appearance. Decorative composite reinforcement fabrics are often woven using two or more fibre types in order to accentuate the weave pattern or include a distinctive coloured yarn; the classic examples of which are our coloured carbon fibre fabrics which combine 3k carbon fibre with brightly coloured polyester or aramid yarn.
These dry fabric reinforcements are typically used as the first layer into a mould for moulded components or are laminated as a single layer onto an existing part in a skinning or overlaying process. They are suitable for use with most resin systems and most lamination methods including hand-layup, skinning, vacuum bagging and resin infusion.
Like all our reinforcement fabrics, our woven hybrid fabrics are rolled to order and available to buy in any length, sold the linear metre. We can also supply in wholesale full roll quantities for unbeatable pricing.
