VF2 is a robust, steel housed, high efficiency vacuum pump inlet filter with ½” BSP threads on its inlet and outlet*. It is recommended for use with medium duty industrial vacuum pumps such as our DVP EC20 Industrial Vacuum Pump, as well as other similar pumps from manufacturers including Busch, Becker and Edwards.

Use of a vacuum filter like VF2 is highly recommended for all vacuum pumps, in most environments, as it will protect the pump from ingestion of dust, dirt and other contamination that would otherwise significantly reduce the efficiency and lifespan of the pump.

VF2 uses a large surface area, high-flow paper filter element which causes almost zero restriction to the airflow and has no effect at all on the ultimate vacuum level achieved by the pump.

*Note: The actual thread on the filter body is ¾” BSP, ¾” to ½” reducing bushes pre-installed and thread sealed in place to achieve ½” BSP on the inlet and outlet. If required, the reducing bushes can be removed to allow unrestricted ¾” BSP fittings to be connected.

How to Use

Installation

Both the inlet and outlet of the filter have a ½” BSP (parallel) thread. A 90° male-male ½” BSP elbow fitting is included with filter, suitable for direct connection to many vacuum pumps featuring a horizontal ½” BSP vacuum inlet connection.

Connecting to a DVP EC20

The filter should be connected to the EC20 vacuum pump via the outlet on the base of the filter using a male-male 90° ½” BSP-T elbow fitting (included), sealed with PTFE tape or suitable threadseal.

Connecting to Other Vacuum Pumps

The filter should be connected to the vacuum pump via the outlet on the base of the filter. A 90° ½” male-male elbow - suitable for connection to several vacuum pumps - is included with the filter but can be substituted with any pneumatic threaded adapter (such as a male-male straight adapter), according to requirement, providing the adapter has a male ½” thread (or ¾” by removing the reducer bush).

Maintenance

The VF2 Vacuum Pump Filter does not require any regular maintenance beyond occasional inspection of the paper filter and replacement as necessary. Note that performance of the vacuum pump will be reduced if the filter is clogged/contaminated.
