The team has worked relentlessly throughout the academic year to design and manufacture the FS26 vehicle from concept through to completion. With it only being our second year producing a monocoque chassis, the team have embraced the challenges that come with developing new manufacturing processes and continuously improving our designs.
By combining the expertise of our valued sponsors with extensive in-house manufacturing, the team have worked towards producing a complete rolling chassis. This year's vehicle features several significant developments, including the introduction of an inboard suspension system and a side-mounted intake, both designed to improve performance and packaging.
The chassis was constructed using aluminium sandwich panels, bonded together with Permabond ET5428-B Epoxy Adhesive to ensure accurate alignment, structural integrity, and consistent manufacturing quality.
The aerodynamic package has also been remanufactured. XPS extruded polystyrene foam was used to result in a lighter and more refined aerodynamic package. The wings were manufactured with a carbon fibre wet layup, using EL2 Laminating resin and 210g 2x2 Twill Carbon Fibre cloth. This allowed for stiff, high-quality components. XCR Coating Resin was then used, providing a smooth, accurate surface finish.
Additionally, EMP160 High Temp Epoxy Moulding Paste and EG160 High Temp Epoxy Tooling Gelcoat were used to manufacture bodywork moulds for use with prepreg carbon fibre.

Despite having fewer than 20 members, Staffordshire Uni Racing prioritises quality over quantity.
