ET515 is a fast curing, clear, semi-flexible two-part engineering grade epoxy adhesive. ET515 has good bond strength to a wide variety of substrates including metals, composites and some plastics whilst it's semi-flexible hardness is well suited to applications subject to vibration or shock.
15min cure. Supplied in a twin cartridge pack (1:1 ratio, resin and hardener). Available to buy online in 50ml and 400ml cartridges.

Very high performance, 15 minute structural flexible epoxy adhesive suitable for a wide range of demanding bonding applications.
Permabond's ET515 is a rigid epoxy adhesive with a slight amount of flexibility making it ideally suited to applications where the bond will be subjected to vibration or shock. Although listed as a 'semi flexible' adhesive, unlike flexible 1-part PU adhesives like Tigerseal or Sikaflex, this is still very much a rigid adhesive, albeit with a high flexural strength and a small amount flex.
ET515 has a 1st stage cure time of 15m making it ideal where an amount of assembly/positioning time is required. Full strength is not reached for 24hrs.
Pack Sizes and Dispensing
ET515 is a professional adhesive and is therefore sold in the standard 50ml Twin Tube pack which requires the standard type 50ml Twin Tube Dispenser Gun, available to buy separately. It is also available in a large 400ml trade size twin tube intended for production use. The 400ml requires a 400ml Twin Tube Dispenser Gun. Choose the pack size you require from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
Choose the correct mixer nozzle
In both pack sizes the adhesive is supplied with 1x Static Mixer Nozzle.
In both 50ml and 400ml cartridges, Permabond cartridges use 'Type 2' mixer nozzles which feature an advanced bayonet fitting to eliminate cross contamination. Click below to buy the compatible cartridges for your chosen pack size:

There is no practical minimum bond thickness for this adhesive although you do need to ensure that *some* adhesive is present, which is why glass spheres are sometimes used to prevent the adhesive from being scraped off completely. Essentially though, as long as an even thin film is applied the bond strength between the two materials will be good.
Yes, certainly. In fact the easiest way to do this is to simply leave the static mixer nozzle in place after you use the adhesive. The adhesive that's in the nozzle will have been mixed and so will cure but the glue at the start of the nozzle will be unmixed and not cured meaning the nozzle will twist off perfectly and the glue inside will have been protected from the atmosphere and so will be perfectly preserved ready for use.
A typical application of the adhesive is approximately a 0.5mm thick layer. At this thickness, one 50ml cartridge would cover an area 30cm by 30cm; a 400ml cartridge would cover an area approximately 90cm by 90cm.
For best results when gluing over a large surface area, use a spreader to help ensure the adhesive is laid down in an even layer.
Yes ET515 will bond to properly prepared polyester resin parts but surface preparation will be important. Ensure you ‘key’ the part using some abrasive paper and that all dirt and contaminates are cleaned off to help you get the best bond possible.
ET515 is an option but probably more common, and more suitable, would be our VM100 methyl methacrylate adhesive. The only drawback to the VM100 however is its working time which, at only a few minutes, is pretty fast. If you feel you may need more time to position the assembly then our ET538 adhesive would also make a good choice. Both of these systems have been used and proved by a number of bike builders.
ET515 is well suited to applications under vibration and shock such as on a caravan or vehicle. For best adhesion, both surfaces need to be heavily keyed with sandpaper and thoroughly degreased and cleaned prior to bonding.
The Shelf life of the ET515 is 12 months when stored in a cool and dry place.
Yes, ET515 is a great adhesive for bonding carbon fibre to a range of substrates. What can make ET515 particularly suitable, depending on the application, is its high flexural strength which means that bonds are more resistant to impact and shock when compared to other adhesives.
Yes ET515 can be pigmented. We have a range of Epoxy Colour Pigments that will work well. Alternatively, for transparent tints try our range of Translucent Tinting Pigments.
