This 175gsm satin weave Kevlar cloth can be used on its own or in conjunction with other reinforcement fabrics (such as carbon fibre) to achieve a very strong and impact resilient composite.
Kevlar® provides very high resistance to impact and abrasion and is much more resilient to fracture separation than other reinforcements (including carbon fibre).
Twill Kevlar® cloth can be laminated in just the same way as carbon fibre. It is suitable for use in wet-lay, vacuum bagging or resin infusion.
For maximum performance Kevlar® should always be laminated with Epoxy resin.
DuPont™ and Kevlar® are trademarks or registered trademarks of E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.
How to Buy
This roll is 1m (39") wide and the fabric is sold by the linear metre. The unit price shown is for 1 linear metre, volume discounts automatically apply for larger quantities of fabric.
Please purchase the number of linear metres you require. When purchasing multiple metres the fabric will be supplied in one continuous length on a roll.

For wet-lay lamination you will use a bit more resin than the weight of the fabric. A typical fibre resin ratio for Aramid based fabrics is 45/55. For example, with a 300gsm cloth, for 1 square metre you will have 300g of fabric and thus will need 367g of resin to wet it out, plus a small amount of wastage for the brush and mixing pot.

No. Our Kevlar Fabric is only available in the classic Kevlar yellow.
We do not currently stock any hybrid pre-pregs either as carbon-aramid mix or pure aramid
Aramid and Diolen laminates can be drilled into using a HSS drill bit designed for drilling steel. Start with a pilot hole and work up the diameter until the desired hole size is achieved. Any aramid/diolen fluff can be cut off with a sharp Stanley blade or scalpel.
No, this material wouldn’t be right. Normally for use in fabric garments, such as motorbike clothing, you need a specialist Aramid/Kevlar textile. Standard composites grade woven cloths are not designed for this application and are normally designed to be impregnated with resin to make a rigid composite material. The range of textiles we would recommend you consider are our Kevlar Protective Textiles which are all designed to be used in these kind of applications. Typically you would use the Loopbacked material as a general protective layer with high risk areas, such as knees, protected by the tougher Fleece.
Yes the cloth is quite fragile until laminated with a resin matrix as intended. If you want a more ‘usable’ kevlar material for use as dry fabric have a look at our Protective kevlar materials.
Very nice items. International shipping was quick and trouble-free.
