Genuine carbon fibre flat sheet in a variety of sizes from A5 (148mm x 210mm) all the way up to full 2sqm sheets. The sheet is high gloss on one side and performance E-glass fabric on the reverse.
The 'wet lay' sheet is our budget carbon fibre sheet choice but nonetheless is very tough and suited to a wide range of applications where a gloss carbon finish is only required on one side.
Thickness Tolerance
As a hand laminated sheet intended primarily for cosmetic applications there is some natural variation in the thickness of our wet-lay sheet and thicknesses stated are approximate and nominal. Our 1mm sheet actually has a typical thickness of 1.3mm and our 2mm sheets has a typical thickness of approximately 2.3mm.
If you require tighter thickness tolerances then we would recommend our engineering grade pre-preg carbon fibre sheet.
Cutting, Shaping & Finishing
As with all carbon fibre and composites (like fibreglass, carbon kevlar etc) good results can be achieved for cutting, shaping and finishing this sheet using regular workshop tools like hacksaws, jigsaws and wet-and-dry. Specialist tools can, however, make lighter work of the job and produce better results.
We recommend Perma-Grit tools for the cutting and shaping of carbon fibre sheet.
