Product Description

Genuine carbon fibre flat sheet in a variety of sizes from A5 (148mm x 210mm) all the way up to full 2sqm sheets. The sheet is high gloss on one side and performance E-glass fabric on the reverse.

The 'wet lay' sheet is our budget carbon fibre sheet choice but nonetheless is very tough and suited to a wide range of applications where a gloss carbon finish is only required on one side.

Thickness Tolerance

As a hand laminated sheet intended primarily for cosmetic applications there is some natural variation in the thickness of our wet lay sheet and thicknesses stated are approximate and nominal. Our 1mm sheet actually has a typical thickness of 1.3mm and our 2mm sheets has a typical thickness of approximately 2.3mm.

If you require tighter thickness tolerances then we would recommend our engineering grade pre-preg carbon fibre sheet.

How to Cut and Shape

We recommend Perma-Grit tools for the cutting and shaping of carbon fibre sheet.

Technical Questions


Is the sheet 100% waterproof? I need to use it on the outside of a boat.

Yes, the sheet is 'waterproof' in very much the same way that a GRP/fibreglass boat hull is waterproof. It uses a polyester gelcoat surface layer (which is isophthalic so offers very good long-term water impermeability and UV stability) which is then reinforced by the resin and carbon/glass behind. Therefore, there's no reason why it would not be as water resistant and durable in a marine environment as a boat hull itself.
